Affordable Operation with Low Fuel Consumption
Worried about the cost of running the Easy Seeder or Montag 2108 Seeder? Or how you will pay for it? Rest easy knowing that the operation costs are minimal. To power the seeder’s independent hydraulic system, you’ll use an extra 0.9 gallons of fuel per hour. That’s it.
Let’s break it down: If you round up to 1 gallon of fuel per hour, and buy diesel at $4 per gallon, it’s $4/hour. Divide by 20 acres per hour is $0.20 per acre. Or maybe you’re pushing 50 acres per hour and it’s $0.08 per acre. And remember, these examples are 10% too high before you agreed to the $4.00/gallon fuel.
Enhance Your Farm’s Long-Term Productivity
Beyond the economic incentives, cover crops do essential work on your farm that nothing else can. By feeding the soil’s biology, they contribute to the health of your land in ways that translate to long-term productivity.
Boost Soil Health: Cover crops improve organic matter, helping build rich, fertile soil that sustains life and enhances future crop yields.
Improve Water Retention and Cycling: Better soil structure allows for improved water infiltration and retention, which reduces erosion and helps your land withstand periods of drought.
Increase Topsoil: Healthy soil biology supported by cover crops leads to the accumulation of topsoil, which is crucial for ongoing agricultural success.
Let the Easy Seeder make the establishment of cover crops simple, efficient, and cost-effective. By integrating cover crop seeding with your tillage or harvest, you’ll set the stage for healthier soil, stronger crops, and a more sustainable future for your farm.
